On Monday, seven-year-old London Boyce from Cypress donned her personal protective equipment and headed to Houston Methodist Hospital. She handed out free ice cream to 250 nurses and doctors.

“I wanted to do it because healthcare workers make their patients feel better. I wanted to make them feel better and also proud of themselves,” said London.
London, who is the new face of Blue Bell’s mini ice cream sandwiches, handed out frosty snacks from the Brenham-based creamery as well as ice cream from Boyce Kids Cream Machine.
London co-owns the ice cream truck with her siblings Thomas “T.J.” Boyce, 14, and Asia Boyce, 18.
Kimberly Mora, 25, a rehabilitation technician at Methodist, picked up a frozen treat for herself and took 10 extra to give to her co-workers.
“I asked for more to take to my department. London was so sweet. She didn’t hesitate to say yes,” said Mora. “She thanked me for what we’re doing to help people. It was a bright spot in the day.”
London and T.J’s parents, Patrice and Thomas Boyce, Sr., invested in the truck as a way to teach their kids about entrepreneurship. They take their children to buy the products and help them load up the truck. The rest is up to three siblings.
“They sell the ice cream and keep up with the inventory and accounting,” said T.J. Boyce, Sr.
London’s resume also includes author and actress.
Her book “Wonder London: I Hate My Curly Hair” comes out Friday and she is co-starring with Janelle Monae in the film “Antebellum,” scheduled to be released August 2020.
